Sicily tries to impose itself not only with its own identity but also with the narration of itself. This happens in literature, cinema and theatre. And it also happens with the eye of the photographer. Marco Rigamonti tried to deviate from the preset path chosing a Sicily in which the contemporary is prevalent. […] He travelled across Sicily in search of monuments that weren’t mute ghosts but build by us and recently. Ruins of the present. Contemporary relics. An extreme landscape in which the contrast is all internal, in which nothing appears except for a flash of light interrupting and annihilating the shadows.
