For the Quartetto Prometeo, Silver Lion winner at the Biennale Musica di Venezia in 2012, the search for a new sound is not just an attitude, an intention, a desire. On the other hand, it is a necessity, an unavoidable source and destination in the search for their own identity. It is no coincidence that it is through the prism of the music of our time that the ensemble also interprets the great classics of the repertoire. This logic is perfectly reflected in the programme of this concert, which places Beethoven's Quartet op.18 No.3 between the first string quartet composed by Luca Francesconi in 1977 and his more recent quartet I voli di Niccolò of 2004.
