Stanislao Mattei ‘La passione di Gesù Cristo signor nostro’ oratorio for soloists, choir and orchestra. A project and a critical edition of the music by Elisabetta Pasquini first integral performance of the second version of the Oratorio in the Chain that links the masters and students of the so-called ‘Bolognese school’ where Father Stanislao Mattei constitutes a central link.
His catalogue of works includes music for liturgical and devotional purposes, a theatre work and twenty-seven symphonies. On the occasion of the bicentenary of his death, Officina San Francesco Bologna is promoting a study day as well as the first complete revival of the second version of the Oratorio della Passione, composed in 1792 to a libretto by Pietro Metastasio.
