"L'Imperatore" by Ludwing van Beethoven and "Art, music and faith to the Servants of Bologna" by prof. Piero Mioli.
The event will take place in the sacristy of the Basilica dei Servi, Strada Maggiore n. 43, on 6 October 2022 at 9 pm. The project was born from the intention of enhancing, through musical and cultural proposals, some pictorial and architectural jewels hosted by the Basilica dei Servi and unfortunately frequently neglected.
The event in particular aims to rediscover and relive the important space of the Sacristy, ideal for offering chamber music concerts to the audience of the Cappella Musicale dei Servi, for which the space of the Basilica would be inappropriate in terms of size and acoustics.
The Concerto for piano and orchestra n.5 (the Emperor) in the unusual chamber version by V. Lachner for piano and string quintet, will be preceded by the speech by Prof. Mioli, music historian and president of the Music Chapel, who will illustrate the main characteristics of the Sacristy and its works, as well as its acoustic qualities that inevitably link the art and musical activity of the Chapel.
