The Harlem Gospel Choir is the most famous gospel choir in America and one of the longest-running. Since 1986, Allen Bailey and his choir, made up of the finest voices from Harlem and New York City, have traveled the world sharing the joy of Faith and raising funds for charitable causes. Over more than 25 years of remarkable career, the Harlem Gospel Choir has always sought to break cultural barriers, uniting nations and people.
The choir has performed for the Royal Family, President Obama, Nelson Mandela, Elton John, two Popes, and at the International Broadcast Memorial for Michael Jackson. True superstars have also collaborated with them, including André Rieu, Diana Ross, Bono, The Chieftains, Lyle Lovett, Josh Groban, and the Gorillaz.
This concert is dedicated to Aretha Franklin, an American singer-songwriter and pianist, and one of the icons of gospel, soul, and R&B music. She was nicknamed "The Queen of Soul" or "Lady Soul" for her ability to infuse soul into everything she sang, as well as for her extraordinary vocal qualities.
Through their music, the Harlem Gospel Choir shares and spreads a message of love, hope, peace, and harmony with audiences around the world. Their performances are both thrilling and heartfelt, with a powerful emotional impact—they have the rare ability to touch the soul.
